Owing to a large number of candidates initiated into the Lodge over the last few years, we have built up a healthy backlog of newer Brethren looking to progress through the degrees.

Therefore, on the evening of Thursday 16th June 2022 at Birmingham’s Severn Street Masonic Hall, our Lodge performed its second ever 2nd Degree Ceremony.

An Emergency Dispensation was granted by the Province of Warwickshire enabling us to hold an emergency meeting outside of our normal schedule so we could fit this in!

Bros. Dan Horton and Paul Akers, initiated in 2019 and 2022 respectively, had made such progress as to be passed to the second degree side by side in the ceremony.

The two junior Brethren were expertly guided in the Lodge by the Brethren undertaking the ceremony, who had perfectly worked out the logistics of the meeting in rehearsals, with this being the first 2nd Degree ceremony since being appointed to their office during the April installation ceremony.

Experience was drawn from a previous double 2nd Degree ceremony which was undertaken by the Lodge in late 2021.

Superb pieces of work were also delivered during the ceremony by W. Bro Alastair Scales and W. Bro Geoff Weston.

Upon completion of a successful and enjoyable ceremony, we retired to the Festive Board where we were also joined by a number of visiting Brethren.

Now being in our summer recess, our next meeting is on the 8th September 2022, which is also a Double 2nd Degree ceremony, closely followed after in December by a possible Double 3rd Degree ceremony.

Should any Brother wish to visit our Lodge to attend any of these meetings, please feel free to contact us where you will be most welcomed after arranging your visit.
