Hands at Work in Africa £1000 target success

As W.Bro Gary Evans’ year as Worshipful Master draws to a conclusion at our 50th anniversary celebrations, he is pleased to announce that his target of raising £1000 for Hands at Work in Africa has been achieved.

Gary and his wife Sandra have supported this charity over a number of years so it was the perfect choice for Gary to support during his year in office.

Previously we reported that with the support of the Lodge of Happiness, Hands at Work in Africa have constructed the first toilet in a South African village. Further donations have enabled the construction of a fence around the site. For a video see: http://lodgeofhappiness.org.uk/hands-at-work-in-africa/

With the final £200 donation the full £1000 target has been met. This will now enable Hands at Work volunteers to add a water receiving tank to catch rain water. Gary’s Brother, Andy, will be out there again in July 2014 to help to fit it.
